The Prague Christmas markets are considered to be the best in the Czech Republic for their beauty and size. They are open from November 26th to January 1st from 9am to 7pm and consist of numerous stands selling gift items, decoration, jewellery, sweets and nativity scenes. Something beautiful to witness is the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree at 5pm on the opening day of the market, in Old Town Square. The two main markets are those of the Old Town Square and Wenceslaus Square.
