The area known as Chueca is a zone in the district of "Centro" in the heart of the city, located beside the Gran Via between the streets Calle Fuencarral and Calle del Barquillo. The location of the Chueca 3A apartment gives you easy access to the principal historic sites, for example The Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral, the Plaza Mayor, the Puerta de Alcalá and the Prado museum, all of which lie a fifteen to twenty minute walk away. Even closer is the famous Puerta del Sol, hub of activity and the meeting point of many important streets, which you will enjoy arriving at in under ten minutes by foot.
The enormous Retiro Park is also to be found close at hand at fifteen minutes walk, where you could enjoy a relaxing stroll in the vast green space and take a break from the city and its traffic. The area of historic interest known as the "Barrio de La Latina" also forming part of the "Madrid of the Austrias" is to be found by continuing for five to ten minutes in the same southerly direction once you have arrived at the Puerta del Sol. Here you will encounter one of Madrid's oldest zones characterized by a medieval distribution that features ample squares and narrow streets that follow the former water courses.
There is an El Corte Inglés department store and supermarket approximately eight minute's walk away on the Calle Preciados, where you could stock up on supplies for your home cooking. A cinema is also in the immediate vicinity on the Calle Montera.

The Chueca apartments offer a very well communicated location that enjoys two metro stations, that of Chueca (Line 5) and Gran Vía (Lines 1 and 5), both at just 350 metres. The Atocha railway station lies 3 km away which you can get to easily in just five stops on Line 1. The bus lines 1 and 5 go along the Gran Vía, 400 metres from the apartment, and the bus line 3 is at 190 metres on Calle Hortaleza.
