You can find tranquil bars, where you can converse over a drink, others establishments more ebullient and, above all, the most diverse musical offerings.
The zone of Carmen is also a reference for fine gastronomy. Numerous restaurants of distinction are to be found within it, of exclusive and minimalist nature, where you can taste the city’s most modern culinary profile.
With respect to night-life areas, in Valencia there coexist diverse possibilities throughout the year, such as the Aragon zone (beside the Valencia FC football stadium the “Mestalla”, in the Aragon Avenue), the Juan Llorens zone (beside Pérez Galdos Avenue), the Blasco Ibañez zone (in the avenue of the same name, in its entirety), the Cánovas zone (in the square of the same name). Valencia is not a place where you can give your stomach a rest. Valencian Paella is the national typical dish, and there is no better place to eat it than in the very land where it originates. Within the city, you will find possibilities everywhere to taste the valencian Paella, that in the majority of restaurants is on the menu, but especially tasty is the Paella on offer along the beach promenade, which are made in some cases from fresh catches of seafood direct from the sea. Each restaurant having its own speciality, the variety of specialities of rice dish is enormous including rabbit paella, seafood paella, mixed paella, squid ink rice, rice in broth, “senyoret” rice, oven rice, rice with lobster...
But not only rice dishes and paellas exist in Valencia. Horchata, coming from tiger nut plantations, is a typical refreshment of Valencia that is drunk with an accompaniment of “fartons” (a bakery product with an elongated shape) and the flavour of which is totally unique. The neighbouring town of Alboraya is the traditional centre of these products, where you cannot fail to visit, especially in spring and summer.
