The Disney classic has been transformed in a brilliant way by the prestigious theatre director Julie Taymor converting it into a unique and sophisticated theatrical experience that has been seen by more than 60 million persons around the world.
With its surprising and colourful staging, the musical transports the spectator to exotic Africa, with dazzling visual effects and evocative music, constituting a new milestone in the world of spectacle and a turning point in artistic design, and in general, that of the musical genre which leaves nobody indifferent.
THE LION KING is the grandest musical production ever presented in Spain, where it will be presented for the first and only time in Spanish, confirming the excellent moment in which the musical genre finds itself in Spain.
Until now this spectacle has secured more than 70 first category prizes in the world, including the Tony® prize and the NY Drama Critics best musical, the Grammy® best musical album and also the Laurence Olivier (UK) prize for best choreography and best costume design, and three Molière (France) prizes for best musical, lighting design and costume.
