THE AREA SURROUNDING THE VIVEROS APARTMENT.
Should you choose to stay at the Viveros apartment in Valencia you will find that the location offers you easy access to historic sites and parks, as well as many shops and cafés in the local residential neighbourhood.
Located on Calle Alboraya, the Viveros apartment is right beside the ornate Royal Gardens which date back as far as the year 1560, and also the Museum of Fine Arts. If you like your green space then you will certainly get a lot out of this location because in addition to the large Royal Gardens, as you cross the Trinity Bridge to get to the historic centre you will pass over the river Turia, where instead of water you will see an enourmous park that stretches right through the city through the former river bed.
If you plan a visit to the iconic City of Arts and Sciences, there is no better to way to arrive than to simply follow the river bed through the gardens (approx. fourty minutes' walk). The same is true for a visit to the Bioparc which lies at the other end of the river in the opposite direction (approx. fourty five minutes' walk).
Crossing the Trinity Bridge and continuing straight on along the Calle del Salvador, you will arrive at the Almudin and the Cathedral in just six or seven minutes' walk where you will be in the heart of the old town. From here you can walk to the Serranos Gate in under five minutes, the Mercado Central and La Lonja in six or seven minutes, or to the city square in ten; so you really will enjoy very easy access to historic Valencia.
The historic centre is full of cafés, tapas bars and restaurants, especially in the neighbourhood known as "El Carmen" which you can find by looking for the Calle Caballeros or the Plaza Redonda, both of which lie on the other side of the Cathedral, heading towards the Mercado Central.
