This neighbourhood owes its name to the Habsburgs who ascended to the Spanish throne in the XVI century before being replaced by the House of Bourbon at the beginning of the XVIII century. This was a long period in which the city was enriched with the construction of numerous palaces and monuments. The incredible architecture of the area reflects this historic period. This is a very elegant neighbourhood filled with interesting sites.

Stepping out of your Magdalena apartment you will be able to easily reach many of the most visited historic monuments on foot. For example in under five minutes' walk you will discover the impressive Plaza Mayor with its majestic statue of King Philip III.
